20-03-2020Update: Adjusted signature process for Europe.
Effective immediately: customers are no longer requested to sign for their deliveries. This is one of the actions Seabourne Group and partners is taking. This is in line with WHO guidance, to minimize the risks for our employees, customers and the communities we serve. Seabourne Group and partners is taking this action for all deliveries and not just for a specific consignee. Once the driver arrives at the customers’ location, he/she will:
- Make contact with a person on site
- Scan the package(s)
- Confirm the last name and enter the customers’ name into the DIAD board
- Note: All residential deliveries will be recorded as Driver Release.
For adult signature requirements, signature required, and high value packages, consignees will need to continue to show their government issued photo ID to the driver. On behalf of the customer, the driver will sign for the package with “COVID19” and enter “CVD” along with the consignees’ last name.
Please note: Shipments that cannot be delivered due to the closure of a location can be returned to the shipper on the same day. Cost will be charged to shipper.

The movement of goods is still open and without any restrictions. Seabourne Group and partners operates therefore still as business as usual. Please be advised that we hear more and more that crossing borders will be a challenge. If packages need to arrive next day, we advice you to switch from Economy to Express products and we will deliver as fast as possible.
Deliveries:
The health and safety of our employees, customers and partners are paramount, which is why we at Seabourne Group closely monitor developments around the Corona virus. We follow the general guidelines and instructions of RIVM and other authorities. Although the chance of bacteria and viruses being transmitted is minimal through our packages, scanners or tablets, we can understand the increasing concerns among our recipients. Of course we want to ensure that the packages are delivered correctly.
More and more consignees are reluctant to sign on handhelds/papers for their shipment due to the Coronavirus. When Seabourne Group and partners attempts to deliver a package, customers will accept their shipment. However they may not necessarily want to use the drivers devices, scanner, handheld or handheld pen in order to sign for their package due to perceived infection risks. In such situations, when Seabourne Group and partners in Europe are unable to obtain the customers signature, packages will be scanned as DR RELEASED. In addition the driver will indicate that the customer declined to have their signature recorded by entering CV19 and the name of the customer. Our drivers also keep an appropriate distance and avoid physical contact.
Here you will find the latest information we have available. Please keep in mind that more updates are expected in the near future, because with the Lock Down in France and the closure of the borders of the Schengen area, the impact has yet to be determined.
